You ride the morning bus past Maccas, stop for a coffee at Deus ex Machina then take a late night bike ride past the milk bar that never closes. You go back one hundred years and it’s plus ça change then fast forward to 1988 where it’s not quite Paris. And yet… You glimpse the world from a wedding dress shop window, go in search of a pasta machine, mistake a women’s legal service for a brothel and listen to the wisdom of an ibis. You are a denizen of Parramatta Road.
Come along and listen to stories from Leichhardt, Petersham, Camperdown and Annandale at our next Little Fictions show, 'Humans of Parramatta Road'. Hear our talented actors perform new tales penned by award-winning authors John Dale, Jen Craig, Margaret Barbalet and Julie Chevalier as well as an array of new and emerging local writers such as Harriet McInerney, Jill O'Meara, Karolina Ristevski, Helen Meany, Tess Ridgway as well as from Canberra, Sarah St Vincent Welch and from the Blue Mts, Arna Radovich.
Set in Knox Street Bar, Chippendale’s most intimate and edgy venue, Little Fictions is curated by Sydney publisher, Bronwyn Mehan (Spineless Wonders) deftly compered by MC Adam Norris and performed by talented Sydney actors, Eleni Schumacher, Kate Fraser and Lauren Hamilton-Neill.
